Mrs. Imogene Drinkard Palmer, age 86, of Kirksey, KY died at 12:41am Sunday at her home. She was born September 19, 1925 in Henry Co. TN, to the late Dee R. & Lila (Hargrove) Drinkard.
She was a member of Kirksey United Methodist Church, the Wadesboro Homemakers Club, and an avid bridge player at the Murray-Calloway Co. Senior Citizens. She was the co-owner and operator with her husband of Palmer Dairy Farm.
Mrs. Palmer is survived by her husband, Thomas Hugh Palmer to whom she was married August 24, 1940; two daughters, Carolyn Leslie and Aileen Leslie (Rev. Dan), one sister; Betty D. Coleman, one brother; Paul Drinkard (Betsy), four grandchildren; Bill Leslie (Tracy), Allen Leslie (Michelle), Alson Chaney (Tim), & Emily Burks (Taylor), and seven grandchildren; Frankie Leslie, James Fielder, Tara Leslie, Rebecca Fielder, Chris Eldridge, Ashley Barnard (Gentry), and Jordan Eldridge.
Mrs. Palmer was preceded in death by one granddaughter; Beth Leslie Fielder, four sisters; Mavis Brewer, Jimmy Lee Carmichael, Velma Rose, and Estelle Lovett, and three brothers; Ortis Drinkard, J.D. Drinkard, and Branch Drinkard.
Services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday at York Funeral Home, with Rev. Kendrick Lewis and Rev. David Allbritten officiating. Burial will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit from 4:00m until 8:00pm Tuesday at York Funeral Home.
